On the road to SES San Jose 2006
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airpor (FTL). Thank God the wireless if free. I am so tired of the airports that hit you up for $10 to access the internet for even just an hour or two.
It turns out when we booked the flight, we must have selected “additional airports within 80 miles†or something, because instead of flying into SJC, we flew into Oakland instead. The taxi driver got lost on the way to the hotel and taxi fare ending up being just short of $120.
I’ve connected fine in the hotel room, but I’ve spent an hour trying to get Joe’s PC online and I have nothing but problems. His internal wireless is apparently IEEE 802.11a. I’ve lent a Linksys Wireless PCMA card, but that doesn’t seem to work. I also tried sharing my connection to him and that didn’t work either. I could see my PC from his, but he can’t get internet. I don’t have time for this. Hopefully, we can connect at through the host hotel wireless.
I started a website for Ali Witherspoon. This guy is on the beach 4 days per week guiding people through some brutal workouts. He’s been doing this for nine years. Fortunately, Ali is a natural blogger and he’s adapted quickly to blogging. I think he’s going to end up with a great site with lots of traffic a year from now.
As a result of doing Ali’s site, one of his trainees asked me if I could do a website for her husband. It turns out he’s a major broker of really big ticket items, some in excess of $10M.
