Middleton Appartelle, Cagayan de Oro City

Middleton is one of my preferred places to stay here in CdO. Only Middleton, Pryce Plaza, and Lauremar Beach Resort have swimming pools and Middleton is much more affordable. They have 2-bedroom, 2-story apartments available at a daily rate of P1800 (about $36) and at a monthly rate (pay in advance) of P46,000 (about $900), which is not much of a discount. The last time I stayed here, the rate was only P37,500 per month.

In addition to the apartments they also have studio rooms at P1300/day (about $26), honeymoon suites at P1500/day (about $30), and, of course, Presidential Suites at P1600/day (about $32).

The apartments have full kitchens, but all other rooms have a refrigerator only.

The studio is the best deal, the rooms are large and there’s plenty of storage space as well as working space if you need a desk. There is no standard internet access, but the last time I stayed here in 2005, I was able to get a DSL connection for a rate of P6000 per month (about $120).

The food and service is good and the place seems to be quite secure, with an exterior gate that is locked about 10 PM each night, manned by an armed guard. They will turn off the A/C when you leave the room, but the A/C’s are pretty stong and cool the place quickly in comparison to other places I’ve stayed.
