Riverview Inn, Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City
The Riverview Inn is the closest to my office, less than one block away, so it is my preferred place to stay. Rates have gone up since I last stayed here by about 30%, back in 2004. They have a good restaurant, and room service, but they will turn your AC off when you leave the hotel, so you can always expect to return to a hot room. Since they have no elevator and 5 floors, you can expect to be sweaty by the time you do get to your room, at least you will be if you’re lugging around as many kilos as I am.
Standard Single room is P600 (~$12), a Standard Double is P800 (~$16), Business class is P900 (~$18), Superior (two twin beds) is P950 (~$19), and a “Family” room is P1200 (~$24).
All rooms have color CableTV, A/C, and hot/cold showers. There’s not much of a view of the river from the back side of the hotel, but there’s a decent view of Pryce Plaza from the front side.
Internet access is available only from their business center, pretty much a Netcafe, and the cost is P45/hr, and you have to use one of their PCs, you can’t hook up your laptop.
