Pryce Plaza Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City
The jewel of Cagayan de Oro, this is without a doubt the best hotel in town, well, out of town, about a P50 taxi ride from the city center. Prices start at about P3500 (~$70) and go up to about P7800 (~$156) per night, a bit too rich for my wallet, but nice for a night or two. For the above room prices you need to add a 12% Gov’t tax and a 10% service charge. As long as you are spending, make sure you make use of their fitness center and spa. I didn’t avail myself of any of their many skin and facial treatments, but they do offer several different type massages. The food is also excellent, and their restraint is worth visiting even if you don’t stay at the hotel. Pryce Plaza is only one of three area hotels that has a swimming pool, the others being Middleton Appartelle and Lauremar Beach Resort.
While there is no WiFi, they do have broadband connections available in the rooms at P50 per hour, which is still a pretty good deal.
