Lauremar Resort, Cagayan de Oro City

Lauremar is outside the city, in Opol, next to Roan Beach.  The rooms are nice and the food is good in the beachside resteraunt.  I spent my wedding night here, after the reception.  This place also has a pool, a nice one.  The lack of internet would be a bother to some, but with my  WeRoam WiFi card I was still hooked up.  The rooms are a bit more expensive the place I prefer to stay, but you get that back in ambience and setting.  This place is more than a P100 taxi ride from the city center, and you would be best calling for a taxi rather than standing by the road trying to hail one.  The deluxe suite for the wedding night was about P3250 (~$65), and a standard room with twin single beds is about P2400 (~$48)

    There’s a great improvement in this place since my first visit in 2002. The room rates have gone up, but the amenities came in strong to make it up. Good that I had Wifi, otherwise the absence of Internet connection would have been a great letdown.

    Ohh yes this place is really a nice place. i like the view of the beach and its kinda quite because its far from the city proper.
