New bridge in Cagayan de Oro
The new bridge is getting close to completion.
Whether that’s just a couple of months from now or more than six months is beyond my guess.
If the same bride were to the same stage of completion in South Florida it would probably open to traffic in less than a month.

The previous three photos are all of the Western end of the bridge. I did walk all the way to the Eastern end of the bridge so I don’t know if the other end is in the same condition.

The above photo is taken from the North side of the bride, close to the Western shore, looking East.

The above photo is taken near the middle of the North side of the bridge, looking East. Note the markedly improved scenery from this vantage point.

The above is from the North side (bay side) of the bridge, near the Western Shore, looking West.

The above photo is again from the North side of the bride, near the Western Shore, but looking down-river to the bay.

There was some really shoddy concrete finishing on this bridge. I was really glad to see this because for years I have been haunted by the memory of shoddy concrete finishing I did back in the late 1980′s and I believe that after seeing this bridge surface I will no longer be haunted by the memory of my own work.
