House Blessing
Getting motorcycles blessed is just not enough. With my wife, Marissa, pregnant, I had to get the house blessed, too.
This blessing was done by a priest from the Philippine Independent Church (IFI, Spanish for Iglesia Filipina Independiente). The major difference between it and the Roman Catholic Church, from what I can tell, is that the priest from the Philippine Independent Church can marry, and in every case I’ve seen, are married. About 6% of the country belongs to the IFI, and it was created over one hundred years as a result of the revolution against the Spanish.
The priest went though all areas of the house, front yard, back yard, outside wash area, carport, all six bedrooms, all 5 bathrooms (comfort rooms “CR”), and the lanai, tossing holy water on pretty much everything, including us and the dog.
I’ve never even heard of having a house blessed before, but I’m not surprised. I’m previously had my motorcycle blessed and my office blessed. Next, when I get a car or truck, I supposed I’ll have a car blessing, too.

Gaaah. (/me foams at Michelle’s comment)
He doesn’t want to be addressed as “sir”. Our cultures differ and while we use it as a sign of respect for supervisors, family elders, etc., they use it for something else entirely. (Think of someone riding a destrier, has full plate mail, and you get the picture. Or for persons who win the Nobel) I have relatives from New Zealand and Australia and they don’t seem to use that term either.
But yes, haha! You will have your vehicle doused with demon-exorcising h2o too Michael!
