Philippines Terrorism

Several weeks back there was a bomb placed at a bus terminal Cotabato. Hanger-arounders and travelers were killed. The ‘reports’ were that it was an incidence of ‘Muslim’ violence. Embassy warnings were churning from several countries…
Turns out it was just a bunch of guys who were extorting money from the bus company. Had nothing to do with religion. Had nothing to do with politics. Had to do with gangsters whose ‘work was easy money’.
The masters of extortion were (maybe still are) the Italian Maffia. Saying the bus depot deal was a ‘muslim’ incident would be like saying, “There was a gang shooting in Harlem (N.Y. – USA) and the participants were black”. DUH – everyone in Harlem is black.
One of my kids just came back from Iraq (Navy SEAL). Says the same thing is going on there. The violence that we read about has little to do with religion – has to do with MONEY (and to a large degree with ‘power’).
Just Bad Guys with unconventional jobs…
