Why I Blog…

I blog because I can.  I use WordPress, and it’s not the easiest blog publication software out there to use,  but I have the tech infrastructure behind me to fix any and all problems I have.  So,  blogging for me is much like keeping a diary.  If I have problems publishing something, I just IM my IT guys and they fix it.

I blog mainly for my family. It is difficult to let your family know what’s going on with you when they are thousands of miles away.  Sure, there are some things on my blog I would rather wish my family didn’t know about, but I can keep only so many blogs, and they’ve always known I was the blacksheep of the family.

I blog because I like to pay my respects to other people.  I may not have a lot of respect for others, some may argue, but the respect that I do have for others is well deserved.

I blog because it gives me an outlet for thoughts I can’t store in my head.  Most of these blog posts are unpublished, but they’re being written and may one day be published.  Hopefully, I’ll grow less and less interested in what people think about what I post and I’ll post more about what I really think.

I don’t blog for money…to a point.  My blog posts don’t really earn any money to speak of.  Nevertheless, if you are a blogger and you’d like to make some money from your blogs then leave me a comment with your email address and I will be sure to add you to my roster of blogs willing to post text links in exchange for cash money.  This might make me some money, but my own wit and/or lack of it, my own blogging…I never expect to make me a dime, because I blog about me…about non-money keyterms.

I blog because I am there sometimes at interesting moments.  I missed two good video blog incidents in the last couple of hours.  One was where our security guard walked up to the porch and was greeted by a friendly me and my defensive  Rottweiler.  The guard did not expect Thumper to jump up out of nowhere and be just inches from his face. Catching that on video would have been grand.  Less than an hour later a cat crept into our yard, and while Thumper, my rottweiler, caught up with the culprit cat before he was out of harms way, my dog paused and let him survive to climb up a tree to the top of the wall surrounding my house.

Why do you blog?
