You may be the first foreigner to be going through this or not... but at least you are making it known to everybody else, so that everyone who comes after you will know what to do (knock on wood) or what not to do. It's one of the best things about the internet: The flow of information leaves the underhanded and the shady with many fewer ignorant victims. Well, keep us updated as to how this works out and what you did to handle it.
