Who’s for President?

I made a post almost a year ago regarding what I expected from the coming American presidential elections of 2008.  I then expected that no Republican would get elected, and that either Obama or Clinton wouold get the ticket.  However, I also expected that Clinton and Obama would reconcile and Hillary would become the first President of America and that Obama would become the First Black Vice President of America, or vice versa, but now I am not so sure.

It appears that Obama and Clinton are ripping each other apart trying to get the Democratic lead, and that as a result there will likely be no reconciliation, with one or the other accepting the Vice-Presidential position.

I do think that if Hillary led the ticket with Obama as VP then they would win the election.  Another thought is that if Obama became president and Clinton became VP that there would surely be multiple assisination attempts against Obama and we’d end up getting our first Black President and first Woman president from the same ticket.

However, another thought has crossed my mind.  McCain is the Republican nominee.  If he chose Condoleezza Rice as his running mate for vice president then they would stand a chance against the Clinton-Obama mega train.

In this case I see McCain having a heart attack in his 3rd or 5th year in the presendency and Condoleezza Rice becoming not just the first black president but also the first woman president of the USA.

If Obama and Clinton are unable to patch things up, then the democrats will likely loose the election.  Even if they do patch things up, a McCain-Rice ticket would beat them.

Smart man. I suspect that’s what’s going on in McCain’s mind.
