Rotary Club of CdO inducts RTA Chief

Retired General Filipino Amoguis (“Filipino” is his name, not just his nationality, kind of like if I named my son or daughter “America Turner”) was inducted into the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro on Thursday, May 8, 2008.

General Amoguis has served in both the Philippine Military, and with the Philippine National Police. He was appointed and sworn in as Administrator of the Roads and Traffic Administration by Mayor Tinnex Jaraula in August, 2007.

I hope to interview General Amoguis soon to learn more about how he envisions unsnarling the sometimes brutal traffic in Cagayan de Oro, and reining in the countless drivers that run amuk, without regard for traffic rules, right-of-weigh, or thoughtfulness for their fellow man.
