A lot of people at search engine conferences think of me as a link builder, or as “someone who owns a link building company” as was described at SES New York 2006. While it is true that I have a lot of linkers working for me, it would be inaccurate to describe linking as our business where what we really are is an offishore outsource, a supplier of educated and talented but cheap (by American standards) knowledge workers, directly across the fiber, to America, and to other developed countries.
Much of the story of how Harvest SEO came to be is published on Marc Macula’s Blog, so I won’t go through that same story.
We’ve recently added a couple of domains we’ll provide additional services for, since we already have the infrastructure and talent to do the work, the the entry cost into these industries is neglible. Dedicated Assistants provides remote secretarial type services for entrepeneurs and small businesses. The term “remote assistance” would be a good one to describe this service, but unfortunately, Microsoft has already snatched that one up.
